Greetings from Muncie, Indiana! Golf was awesome this morning. We teed off at a little after 9:00 am, played an 18 hole round of "scramble" golf and had a great start to the Indiana Area United Methodist Church 2009 Annual Conference! It's a historic conference this year - the very first Annual Conference of the new Indiana Conference.

Tomorrow Rev. Adam Hamilton of the Church of the Resurrection in Leesburg, Kansas will be speaking to our conference; sharing with us new ideas for church outreach and growth, preaching and worship, and "rethinking church" in the 21st century. I'm thrilled he will be speaking to us tomorrow! I've read all of his books, listen to podcasts of his sermons almost every week, structure my preaching and preaching schedules partially based on his ideas about the church year and reaching people with relevent sermon topics that work in step with the church year, and have taught 3 or 4 Sunday School class sessions based on his books. He is incredibly creative, down to earth and real in his preaching, and planted and grew the Church of the Resurrection into the church of 20,000 it is today. I pray that Indiana United Methodism will learn a lot from Rev. Hamilton tomorrow!

Have a blessed day. I'll be back with more later!

John 21:15
When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my lambs.”
