Frederick Buechner - a well known American theologian says this:

"The grace of God....there's only one catch. Like any other gift, the gift of grace can be yours only if you'll reach out and take it. Maybe being able to reach out and take it is a gift too."

How many times do we live by the "should ofs" in life? We are called to pure and holy living, yes, but when we fail to be pure and holy, as we often do, it serves us no purpose to continue to hold onto guilt, shame, and remorse for something God forgave us of a long time ago. Have you fully embraced the forgiveness and the freedom in forgiveness that God offers you? Maybe this is God's gift to you this evening; that you might reach out and take His gift of grace.
