I spent some time this evening with two very dedicated and enthusiast members of Seminary Church, Marilyn and Everett. They are doing our drama for Sunday morning and we wanted to get together and make sure the skit was blocked out and that they had their lines and timing down. They are both doing a great job and we had a lot of fun together.

Marilyn heads up our worship committee so we also spent some time talking about our upcoming plans for Fall Festival. Marilyn was so inspired by our Sunday theme of "Radical Hospitality" a few weeks ago, that she came up with a wonderful idea for an outreach project at Fall Festival. Not only will Seminary be participating in the Fall Festival parade this year with some pretty fancy cars and candy for the kids, we will also have a time of treating the Fall Festival attendees who stop by the church after the parade to some free ice cream and cookies and in the process opening our doors of the church so folks can get cooled off and use the restrooms. And since they will be in the church building we thought we would run some videos of upcoming events at the church and perhaps a video of the church in worship, at our potlucks, our kids at camp, our Kid's Club in action, ect. Wow - quite a line up and all because one person "caught the fire" of Radical Hospitality. Thanks, Marilyn!

Please plan on supporting the church as we reach out to the community of Roanoke during Fall Festival this year. We'll need your help with cookies, scooping ice cream, telling people about the church and it's activities when they come through the doors, handing out flyers and maybe even giving someone a teddy bear or prayer shawl if they need some extra encouragement and love.

I pray your day is full of blessing! Peace, Kathy
