Any church that has a video and sound system run by a computer has to have poeple called "techies" (or something like that) to run it. Last December (or was it January, I forget - I'm getting old) Seminary Church purchased a video system to use in worship and also for our movie nights at the church. I have had the distinct pleasure of watching a very talented, dedicated, and thicked skinned group of guys and gals set this thing up, learn how to run it, become VERY CREATIVE in what they create for the worship experience at Seminary Church. Plus, they are thick skinned enough to deal with mistakes, video and audio glitches, weird noises, computer lock - ups, complicated sound and video worship elements, a pastor who likes to throw stuff for them to do in worship at them at 8:30am on Sunday morning, and dealing with the tremendous amount of work it took to get the equipment put together, moved when it needs to be moved, the major project of moving the sound system upstairs, and their continuing efforts to make everything run more smoothly, more efficiently, and pleasing a recovering perfectionist pastor who sometimes gets a little cranky when things don't go quite right. Makes me exhausted just to write all of this!
The body of Christ truly must work together to produce a Jesus centered, Spirit filled, healthy and growing church. May we continue to reach into the depths of His love and grace and use our spiritual gifts for the building of God's Kingdom!
Thanks guys and gals! You are doing a great job!
John 14:26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you."
